Abstract Society is increasingly aware of and sensitive to the deployment sustainability. Therefore, firms must implement policies that not only have a positive effect on their sustainable behavior but also contribute improving competitivity. In this dual context sustainability competitiveness, there has been little in-depth analysis in academic literature impact structured employee participation systems. The main aim paper propose apply methodology for joint development competitiveness by means such will draw basic principles continuous improvement based review adopting an Action Research approach, which researchers companies collaborate create useful knowledge both parties. Likewise, illustrates its implementation at Spanish food product manufacturer. shows potential research business spheres, as it provides guide through usefulness practitioners collaborating shoulder generate transfer knowledge.
